Take back control of your inbox and reclaim your life with practical, easy to implement, proven email management solutions.
Whether you’re using Outlook, Gmail, or Apple Mail, you already have an arsenal of email management tools at your fingerprints.
The problem? Most of us don’t have the time to research, test and learn every bell, whistle and technology shortcut in our email program. That’s why they sit unused while we try to fight the deluge of incoming emails all on our own.
And it is exactly these technology tools that enable your email platform to be your personal assistant.
It’s time for your inbox to start working for you by scheduling your meetings, reminding you of pending requests and prioritizing your incoming messages. It’s time for your inbox to support and assist you in completing your work and accomplishing your goals
Your inbox is not the enemy. It’s the best ally you have to combat email overwhelm.
“I felt a lot of anxiety – I was missing emails, important information, deadlines – material critical to the way in which I did my job and managed my team, Together we leveraged some of the technology tools to automate my email management – writing rules and color coding emails. Since working with Carson, the greatest effect I’ve felt personally is less stress, less anxiety. The calm that comes from knowing the important information is there and organized is priceless. An equally important result has been my ability to reclaim control over my time and my productivity.“

The number one email management time waster is re-reading your emails.
For example, let’s say you receive 100 emails a day and that it takes you about one minute to read each one – that’s one hour and 40 minutes of your day! Now, if you must go back and re-read these emails because you read them when you did not have the time or energy to do anything with them, you’ll spend over 3 hours on these emails. Your time is too precious to spend it re-reading emails!
So, how do you stop this vicious, time sucking cycle? Use the four steps in the Email Agility System – Read, Decide, Act and Contain. We’ll take a deep dive through each step in this module and I’ll show you how to leverage technology shortcuts throughout the system.
Rules, shortcuts, and tags, you’ve seen these words a few times already here. So, you’re getting the idea they’re important (and VERY helpful!). Where do you find them? What can they do? How do you set them up? And how do you use them? We’ll cover all of this and more in this module. You’ll implement each technology shortcut and strategy along the way so at the end of this module you’ll have an automated, efficient inbox!
The second biggest email time-waster is the back and forth spent trying to clarify an email message. Picture it: you send an email asking a question expecting an answer, and instead you get a question. You answer that question and realize you now have a question for your colleague who just sent you the email. So you answer that question in the next email you send. Back and forth you go, and you realize you are 15 emails into the conversation and you still don’t have the answer to your original question. Isn’t that the worst?
In this module, I’ll show you how you can eliminate that incessant back and forth (and all those extra emails!) by answering four essential questions in each and every email before you press send. These questions guarantee that your email messages are clear, effective, and immediately understood upon opening.
Wait a minute – WHAT? Have you ever received an email with a subject line that left you scratching your head? The problem is that we are not only bogged down by the sheer volume of email, but also, we must slog through hundreds of emails because they are unclear, ambiguous, and flat-out sloppy. Discerning exactly what we need to know or do and determining if a response is needed requires a lot of our attention and focus. I’ll show you how to clean up your inbox, communicate effectively and improve both the quality and response time on the email messages you send by successfully using the subject line.
You’re mid-way through typing an email and you suddenly have a feeling of deja vu – you wrote this same email last week! How frustrating is that? So, you vow to stop rewriting emails. Later that day an email comes in with a question you know you answered last Tuesday. Since you vowed to never rewrite emails again, you go to your sent items folder and began an exhaustive search for that email you know you sent. Minutes tick by, so many minutes that you could have already typed and sent the email. Rewriting emails and trolling through your sent items folder is wasting your time and energy. I’ll show you how to effectively use email templates to streamline your email responses, ensure consistency and accuracy, and reduce the time you spend processing email.
There are some tried and true email management best practices that we all need to know and use. In this module, I have compiled the best of the best so you can take back control of your inbox once and for all.
The Tame Your Inbox program has been successfully used and deployed by the employees of some of the world’s leading companies.
“I’ve never taken a course that has helped me more than this one! I was out of the office on Friday and normally, I would have arrived today ”afraid” to open my inbox because all the ”stuff” I hadn’t been able to get back to on Thursday. That doesn’t begin to address the concern I would have had around all of the new emails from Friday, Saturday and Sunday which would have clogged my inbox.
I’m happy to tell you that I’m currently sitting with 25 items in my inbox, 12 of which are action items! You know what, the gift of not having to re-read those 12 emails is STRESS RELIEF and PRODUCTIVITY.
Thank you for giving me time, productivity and peace back! I was out Friday and didn’t pick up my work phone one time. It was ALL about my two sons, my family and friends!”
